50wks cover approx per year, Available through most school holidays, collection & drop off service, part-time, full-time, occasional, holiday cover, temporary and one-off childcare. Weekend cover by arrangement only.

Individual Learning Plans

As a requirement from the Care Commission, Individual Learning Plans will be given to you to complete very soon.
Individual Learning Plans will be used to identify any areas that we feel need additional focus and support to support your child in their everyday and educational life.
Therefore, I would appreciate it very much if you could complete the plans as soon as possible.

Child Choices

As the Care Commission requires proof that children are being asked what they would like to do on a daily basis, I have implemented a new system where the children receive a choice sheet of activities of what they can do each day. They are encouraged to choose what they like to do by circling appropriate pictures of activities that are available. However, the children are not limited by their choices. They can also choose to go to the park and softplay aswell. This system has so far been very successful and the children are keen to use the new system. Their choices are included on their weekly sheets for children under 5 years of age.

SCMA Parental Involvement Training

I attended the Scottish Childminding Associations Parental Involvement Training last night. It was a very informative evening with vital information on involving parents in my service and being involved in the care of their children in my service.

Hacked Again !

Well the site got hacked again this week even after the preventative measures that were put in place. So I bitten the bullet and updated the site software with the latest version and patches to increase security but sadly they will no doubt be working hard to crack into the site once again.
Again if you have visited my site in the last week, please ensure you run a virus check on your computers as a precaution.
I do hope you enjoy the new look and logo !

Website Hacked

This website has been hacked twice in the last week. I have taken further measures to try and eliminate the threat.

If you have accessed this site in the last week you are strongly advised to undertake a virus check of your computer as a precaution.

Clearly some people have nothing better to do !

Wasp Nest

As some of you have been aware, we have had a wasp nest above the entrance to the property.

I am pleased to announce that after three treatments the wasp nest has now been destroyed and removed.

Meal Provision

Due to new regulations to be introduced and phased in over a period time I shall not be able to provide a regular meal service for the children.

All parents will be asked to provide a snack or meal for their child as and when required.

However, this doesn't mean that should you forget to provide a snack or meal for you child, that your child will go with out. I can provide meals on an ad-hock basis.

Meal provision will cease at the beginning of July 2010.

School Holiday Dates

The summer holidays begin on: Monday 28th June 2010

Needless to say it will be likely that the schools will close early on Friday 25th June 2010

Schools return on: Tuesday 17th August 2010

Eco News

In January we installed a bug house in the back garden so that insects can take refuge in bad weather and over winter when the time comes. Hopefully it will help one of our good insects - the Ladybird!

The box is low enough for those children interested in beasties, to go and have a look see.

Also in January we installed a second bird nesting box. We are hoping the Bluetits will enjoy their new "des res" if not their old one is close by.
